About Zayt
Lebanese cooking, the way it is done at home.
Zayt means oil in Arabic, and olive oil is where our cooking starts. It goes into the hummus, over the labneh, and onto the bread that comes warm to your table.
Lebanese food is built for sharing. A meal starts with a spread of small dishes in the middle of the table, then the grill arrives, then something sweet and a small pot of coffee. We cook that way here, and we like it when the table gets crowded.
Our dishes are made from scratch in our own kitchen. The tahini is mixed to order, the vegetables are chopped in the morning, and the meat is marinated overnight and cooked over charcoal.
How we cook
Fresh daily
Hummus, dips and salads are made fresh every day.
Over charcoal
Meat and chicken are marinated overnight and grilled to order.
For everyone
Many dishes are vegetarian or vegan, and every one is marked on the menu.
Good ingredients
Spices, olive oil and tahini come from suppliers we trust.
Order a few things, put them in the middle, and share.
That is how the meal is meant to go.
